As Director, it is my honor to serve the staff and families of Trinity Christian Preschool.  My time at TCP began with teaching 3 year-olds, three days a week and then five days a week.  During those years I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful students and their families.  Our school is rich in tradition, yet we are always excited and fortunate to welcome those who are beginning their preschool journey with us for the first time.

As a graduate of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN., I hold a B.A. in Communication Arts.  Following graduation, I taught preschool for a brief time and enjoyed it immensely but then moved on to other opportunities.

Married since 1992, my husband and I both grew up in Hampton and we have been residents of Poquoson since 2003.  I became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of my first child in 1996.  During the next 10 years I was actively involved in children's ministries such as AWANAS, Vacation Bible School and nursery care.

At Trinity Christian Preschool, we are committed to our mission of partnering with each family to provide every student with quality curriculum, as well as a nurturing environment.

After graduating from West Virginia University in 1989, I worked as an accountant at a CPA firm until 1992.  I moved from West Virginia to Texas that year after marrying my husband, David.  We moved to England soon after, and I continued my accounting career overseas.  After my first child was born in 1995, I was lucky enough to become a stay at home mom.

In 2006, when my children were 10, 6 and 2, we moved to Poquoson.  After 20 years in the Air Force and 11 different places to call home, we decided that the children would benefit from putting down roots, so we decided to retire from the Air Force and call Poquoson home.

My journey with Trinity Christian Preschool began as a parent in 2008, when my daughter attended TCP. During her second year as a student, I was approached to become a substitute teacher.  I gladly accepted the opportunity and have been so fortunate to be a part of the growth of many wonderful children.  At the time, I did not envision that I would become the Assistant Director and be able to combine my accounting background with the joys of spending time with your children.

I first came to TCP as a proud parent in 2008 and then began substituting at TCP in 2012.  I joined the staff full time in 2014, serving one year as the teaching assistant for the 2-year-old class and then one year as the teaching assistant for the 3-year-old classes.  In 2016, I began teaching one of our 3-year-old classes.  I live in Tabb with my husband, Martin, son, Leo, daughter, Maggie, and our puppy, Abby.  I lived all over the map while growing up - home was wherever the Air Force sent us!  I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1997 with a B.A. in Communication Studies, a second major in English and a minor in Sociology.  I spent six years working as an editor and writer, published a book in 2004, and became a stay-at-home mom in 2004 when my first child was born.  I participate in Bible Study Fellowship, take an adult tap class and am a busy volunteer with my children's schools and activities and my church's Sunday School and VBS.  I enjoy spending time with children and watching them learn and grow, and I'm thrilled to be able to do so at TCP while working with such a wonderful, supportive staff!

My name is Cindy Dodsworth and I teach a three-year-old class at Trinity Christian Preschool. I am very excited to be a part of this team working to shape these wonderful children. I grew up in the Air Force town of Sumter, SC. I received my degree in Biology with a minor in education from the College of Charleston, in 1992. It was during college that I met my husband, David. The Navy transferred us to Virginia and, a few minor assignments aside, have been living in this area since. My employment before coming to TCP mostly consisted of office management/bookkeeping in the legal field, which allowed me great flexibility in raising my two children.

My experience in teaching includes several years of being a preschool and elementary teacher at our home church. I truly love my kids at school and church. I am looking forward to this year and the wonderful things your children and I are going to explore and discover together.

I am thrilled to be teaching at Trinity Christian Preschool this year. My husband and I have lived in Poquoson for the past 13 years and have four children.  Prior to working at TCP, I have been a "stay-at-home" mom since the birth of my first child. Two of our children are now away at college, one is a senior at Poquoson High, and one is an 8th grade student at Poquoson Middle.

Professionally, I received my Masters in Social Work from Tulane University in 1989. Much of my focus was with adolescents. I have volunteer experience with children in schools, church and scouting. In addition, I have substituted at Trinity Christian Preschool since 2009.

It is truly an honor to be a member of this staff and to work with your precious children. I look forward to seeing them grow and learn over the coming months!

My name is Tobi Cole Tyndall.  I am originally from Hampton, Virginia and have lived here in Poquoson since 2004.  I have three children-all boys, 17, 16 and 5 years.  I was a stay-at-home mom to my older two boys until the year 2000.  It was then I accepted an assistant position in a 3-5 year old classroom at Heron Po9nd Montessori School in Kitty Hawk, NC where my boys were enrolled.  I continued to work there and began informal training on site which led to a lead teacher position for three years.  We transitioned here to Poquoson, where they both began attending public school at 3rd and 4th grade.  At that time I substituted at Poquoson Primary, Elementary and Middle Schools until the birth of my youngest in 2007.  For the 2011-2012 school year I substitued at Hampton Roads International Montessori School.

My youngest, Eli, attended TCP for the 2011-2012 school year.  It was a wonderful experience and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work in this loving, caring environment run by supportive, positive professionals.  I feel blessed to have this position here at Trinity and to have such an inportant role in this community and to be with these children.
